The NBC crew was very impressed with the diversity of the athletes in the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympic Games and I am too! It actually mirrors what the Bible says (maybe surprisingly) about diversity. Try all these verses from Revelation:
“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou are worthy to take the book and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood (obviously Jesus Christ!) out of every tongue, and people and nations…” Revelation 5:9 (KJV)
“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes,…” Revelation 7:9 (KJV)
“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” Revelation 14: 6-7 (KJV)
I concede that not every believer has followed that example when they condoned racism or segregation or slavery but it is an eternal truth in any event!
“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26-28 (KJV)
